Hunter Loot list

According to (formerly) Cheeky’s Hunter DPS Spreadsheet, **EDIT- Thanks to “another hunter” for correcting me- Shandara has picked up Cheeky’s spreadsheet, updated it, and made some amazing improvements. If you’d like to download it, you can Here. ** Vix actually has some decent Gear! But only some…. What I’m going to do here is List what Shandara says is best, then show you what she  has, then show you what I want her to have and how she’s going to get it! If an item is highlighted in Red, that means she currently has it equipped and on the list.  If it’s pink, it’s what she has  equipped but it’s not on the “top 10″ list.

As you can see, she currently has the Plunderer’s Helmet. It’s not even on the list.  /sadpanda Now- the numbers you see are the increase in DPS she would gain by equipping the item. So as great as it would be to down Kael’thas, the Coif of Alleria would only give her a 2.49 increase in DPS. Not so exciting. The first dramatic increase is King Dred’s Helm This drops off – guess who?! King dred in (H) Drak’Tharon Keep.  Haven’t done that one on heroic yet, but it is what I’d set my sights on. Of course the Blinders would be fun, but they require engineering- which she dosen’t have, and all the Naxx 25 stuff is kinda out too as we are a small guild and would like to stay that way. We do ocassionally pug the 25 man naxx though, so if those drop she’ll be all over it.  King Dred’s Helm is what i’m pushing for though- it’s grind-able and not weeks away.

Again- Her neck piece isn’t even on the list.  My goal here is a little more clean-cut than the helm though. Nax 25- nope. Naxx 10? great! but I’m not going to sit around waiting for it, it could be weeks. Impact choker? requires blacksmithing and has Armor pen. Ugh. (If you think armor pen is cool go read BRK’s Article on Wowinsider. So the choker is a no-go.)  That leaves Pendant of the Outcast Hero. Personally I don’t like the idea of being outcast, but i do like being a hero…. so, ok! We’ll take it. With Agi, Crit, AP and Stam I can’t really think of a better neck. All it needs is some INT and it’s a hunter’s dream. None of that haste/armor pen stuff. uck.

Ok so I lied- I guess i’m not showing you her awesome gear….yet. She doew have some, but not in these slots. As you can see, her shoulders don’t make the list either.  Ignore the naxx stuff.  TBC?  These are AWESOME- but they drop in MtH Summit. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Instead I think – Massive Spaulders of the Jormungar. I hate those nasty worms, they remind me of the spice worms in Dune so anything that means she  killed it and gets to wear its pieces is cool with me. The stats are pretty good- and it has lots of hit. We like hit. Hit Gooooood.

Finally! See? She has a nice piece! That cloak was such a huge upgrade it took me forever to get her back to grinding. She kept staring at herself in the mirror so much I finally had to diable the “view cloak” option. Skipping the naxx stuff, the next option is a Token Back. The Hammerhead Sharkskin Cloak. This is pretty nice- 14.43 more DPS, some AP- some haste which isn’t exciting but you win some you lose some. This one will be a little while before we get though- despite it being only 25 tokens, It’s the heroic 25 tokens. We occasionally pug, but it’ll take a while.

Woo! Barely got on the list with this one. Would you believe that a blue is better than a purple that dropped off Vault of Archavon? I believe it. Resilience is expensive in terms of item points, and it’s totally useless unless in PVP. So my Hateful Gladiator’s Chain Armor will be great in PVP but doesn’t do much good in general. It’ll be nice for when we venture to the battlegrounds for World Event stuff. (She really want’s that Violet Proto Drayke.) You’d think one scorpid would be enough scaly-hottness for any woman but i guess the Belf wants a dragon. /sigh   Anyway- She’s been working on her KotEB rep, so that Darkheart is close- but 4.53 more DPS isn’t really worth the grind from Revered to Exalted so…. we’ll pass. The one she wants is the Polished Regimental Hauberk. Yes it’s another Rep grind, but Argent crusade also has some other things that are nice to have. This one may take a while- with any luck she’ll get a nax drop before we get it done.  In the meantime, the Crystal Infused Tunic drops in (H) Nexxus so that is totally do-able.

This one is confusing. We have the Eaglebane Bracers. AND we have the Interwoven Scale Bracers.  We Compare them here.  I TOTALLY think the interwoven are better and don’t know where Cheeky’s getting his number’s from. I guess we’ll have to just get the armguards and put all debate to rest.

It SO pays to have Engineering friends. (/waves at engineering buddy.) Vix Loves her gun. Really. I mean, she sleeps with it and everything. My favorite thing about it is that i’s compact. It looks somewhat realistic. I think she just likes that it’s all shiny and blue and sexy, but i like that it kinda actually looks like a gun- not the head of a demonic worm about to eat your arm that’s bigger than your body.  Oh- and she won’t ever get that crossbow. She likes “bang-bangs” not “phoot phoots.” Since we met long ago she’s always favored Axes and guns. oh- and slinky dresses. Those never get old.  /happy scorpid **Edit- The Nerubian Conquerer is a 37 dps upgrade. And it’s quite possibly the sexiest gun I’ve ever seen. Unfortunatly it drops off Kel’thuzad and is only a 20% drop. It’ll be a few weeks, but we can wait. It’s worth it. (thanks for the comments and corrections.)**

“Wow! You went through Naxx arachnid quarter once and you got those?! really?!” no. We got them on the AH. YAY for BOE purples!! They are totally hawt and I couldn’t wait. She squealed like a school girl when she unwrapped them. (ok- wrapping presents with pinchers? no easy feat. ….actually, it might have been easier with feet. ) So- again, not going to be upgrading these anytime soon looks like.

Her waist has been a weak point for a while. (maybe it’s too tiny?) So a 43.35 increase in DPS with Vereesa’s Silver Chain Belt is a huge upgrade- and it’s only 40 badges.  Soon as we get there, /done. I’d check to see if she can get it right now, but they doing maintence and no one can play.   After this one it’s not really that much of an upgrade to the Naxx 25 ones- but if the naxx 10 drops and no one wants it she’ll take and we’ll go play shooty-shooty-whacky-whacky with the dummies in org to test which one is actually better.

Yes- she has the Giantmaim legguards. Why in the world wouldn’t she? it’s WHY she’s a LW. It’s not that much of an upgrade to the gored hide, and if Elune is willing Naxx will drop some shiny purples, but until then, we’re happy.

I am ashamed. These are terrible rings. I really should have gotten her something nicer by now but we just haven’t had the time. From the top- naxx 25= no, requires BS = no, ring of invincibility is ALLLL kinds of win. That thing rocks. and it’s only 25 tokens. The next one is the Ring of Scarlet Shadows which we will be getting today if I can find the Titansteel for her.

Again- good to have friends. I know these are going to get nerfed, but she likes the dps right now. She looks TERRIBLE wearing them though. they’re like- tauren sized! seriously, there is no feasible way those are one-handers. they’re TWO handers on a human.  I’d like to say I know exactly what I’m going to do here, but really- I haven’t a clue.  I’ll have to do some research and get back to you. Probably a Fang of Truth once we get the chance to farm Wyrmrest Accord.
